There's something liberating about not pretending. Dare to embarrass yourself. Risk.

Some of our bestest friends celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary in March, and they chose to celebrate by inviting a bunch of friends out for laser tag and bar hopping in Nashville.

Christy and Brad offered their house for the kids and hired a group sitter to save us all some hassle and some money. Plus, the kids have a blast together. They also put on a sandwich bar for dinner... can't beat Publix bakery and deli fixin's for sandwiches!

(Thanks to Christy and Jen for the photos!)

The boys!

After our quick meal, we drove up to Nashville to the fancy-pants laser tag place. A few of us had already checked out the local laser tag location, and had such a great time, Christy and Brad decided to kick it up a notch for their anniversary.

We went to Laser Quest in downtown Nashville. And, it was.. well, different. The first game we played wasn't much fun, I think, mostly because it was so different and we had to take some time to adjust. This place was huge... there were multiple levels, it was really dark, and there was no music. The second game was a bit better because Jon and I played in a team. We hid out and I had it back and we didn't move around very much. We just tagged people from a distance. It was fun, but everyone who had been to the previous laser tag outing liked the smaller, local place better.

From laser tag, we debated about where to go, and ended up at Coyote Ugly - mostly because they didn't charge a cover. We had an absolute blast. We drank too much and ended up dancing on the bar... it was the most fun I've had in a long time!

Despite my warnings not to let me on the bar, here we are... from the left - stranger, Sarah S., me, and Christy (though she was only up there for a fraction of a second)

Then, again, later in the night... me, Jen, and Christy doing the Cupid Shuffle (the other girls had gone home by now).

And, the girls!

After the bar, we drove home and decided to hit up some late night Waffle House. It was delish!

We made it back to the Christy and Brad's to pick up the kiddos around 2 a.m. or so... and, this is what we found :)

Note Jackson on the left drenching his pillow in sweat. I'm sorry, Christy! My kid is nasty, lol!!

We had a great, great time and it was an honor to help an amazing couple celebrate such a milestone! 13 years of marriage and two beautiful kids... thanks for sharing it with us, guys!!
