There's something liberating about not pretending. Dare to embarrass yourself. Risk.

OMG. Who would have thought laser tag would be so freaking fun! I mean, especially, because we're old, lol.

My sorority's social for March was couples' night laser tag Friday night (the 4th). As the event approached it ended up that only the Jordans, Banes, and us were going to be able to go... and, it even crossed our mind to change plans and go bowling or do something else. No one had ever done it before and we had no idea what to expect... and, I'll be honest, I was kind of nervous about it. But, I am SO glad we decided to be adventurous and try something new because it was an absolute blast!

The evening started at the Jordans where we all met up to drop the kids off for the group sitter - the best sitter plan ever, by the way - had some pizza and then escaped! We made our way to laser tag at Phazer Tag right here in the 'Boro. We asked our questions and decided to give two games a go - they were buy-one, get-one :)

If you've never been, they set you up with a vest and a gun and let you run around in a fairly big room with a bunch of room dividers set up everywhere... they make nooks and crannies you can hide in and tag (the term used instead of kill or shoot) people. When you get tagged, your light turns off and your gun is deactivated for 4 seconds... you can play solo or in teams. They send you into the arena for 20 minutes set you free.

The first game we played, we were with a group of pre-teen girls, lol. They said they were against the "old people" and we set out to take them out! I felt like I was just running around like a crazy person, laughing and shooting, but mostly getting shot. After 10 minutes or so, I started getting a better feel for the game and strategy came into play. The second game was with a family with a ton of kids... those little guys are sneaky and hard to tag because their short and so small!

After our first go-rounds, we were just surprised at how much fun we had... we decided to stick around and wait for two more games. The third game was no fun at all because we were in there with a bunch of teenage boys who dominated us. But, our fourth game was fun again with a less-skilled group of people.

Truly, it was just a blast. I loved doing something new and something so active. All of us were just surprised at how much we enjoyed it... and, want to go back!

And, here we are getting suited up before our first game.

After laser tag, we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for aps and drinks. We had a great time chatting and laughing and sharing too personal information about each other... it was just about as perfect a night you can get with friends.
