There's something liberating about not pretending. Dare to embarrass yourself. Risk.

October is my favorite month and pumpkins and pumpkin patches are some of my favorite things about my favorite month. This means my family is regularly victims of my obsessions... and this was round 1 of an undetermined number of rounds of pumpkin fun!

This year, we got off to an early start and went to Lucky Ladd's Farm the very first weekend in the month. It was an absolutely gorgeous, beautiful day - and, one of the few we've had lately, so I was glad to be able to take advantage of it. We stopped by Publix for lunch and brought it with us to eat on the farm before we explored the fun stuff they had.

We'd never been to Lucky Ladd's, but it was a find... the best part is it was very spread out and felt uncrowded. After lunch, we went through the "corn" maze, then took off to the animal petting area. Jack was pretty excited about the animals, but he was afraid of them, too... he was okay to be hanging out with them and would even pet them, but if a goat or sheep turned their attention to him, he flipped out and would scream and run away... They were completely terrified of him! Therefore, we really don't have a good picture of him petting any animals.

Next, we went to check out the activites, and our favorite turned out to be the corn crib. ALL of us were in the corn at one point and Jack played for about 45 minutes. By far, the highlight of the afternoon.

There was corn EVERYWHERE!!

Jon had a great time in the corn, too :)

Next, we went to the bouncey ball section.

And, finally the actual pumpkin patch - which wasn't the most impressive, but the rest of the place more than made up for this.

Lastly, here are a couple of pictures of us from that day... it was a lot of fun and a great start to the Fall season!

Yay for Fall!
