Our second jaunt to the pumpkin patch this year brought us to a favorite, Walden Pumpkin Farm, and this time around it was a social for my sorority, so that means friends!!
Jackson and I headed out to the patch despite extremely wet weather for about 100 days previous... we were expecting it to be wet, but thankfully, it wasn't raining on our heads. It was a bit gloomy, but at the same time very fall-like.
The mud made things a bit more fun. First, I pulled into the first spot I saw open and half-way in, the tires began to spin. Talk about panic... but, I was able to get out of the spot without trouble, and christened my car with Rutherford County, Tennessee mud! It looked kind of cool. Second, Jackson had been having shoe issues and has refused to wear his tennis shoes. Most likely because they are too small and have been for a couple of weeks and we are horrible parents that haven't bought new ones yet. So, Jackson went to the farm in his Crocs sandals. Needless to say, it didn't take long for his feet to be disgusting :)

Good times. And, lastly, the mud caught up with our friend Jackson, too... he was a bit adventurous running through the mud, and landed face-first a couple of times. He didn't seem to mind too much!

Walden Pumpkin Farm is just great. Of course, there are pumpkins - both pre-picked and still in the 'patch' - but there are also tons of activities for the kids. Face painting, out-door toys to ride and climb on, animals to pet and feed, sand art, hay maze, hay ride with corn maze away from the rest, and an activity area. Unfortunately, because of the wet weather, the activity area and corn maze were closed, but the rest was a blast. Jackson's favorite activity, two years running, are the simple play tables they have set up with a ton of farm toys... barns, animals, tractors, etc. We spent the majority of our time here... which also makes us think a toy table will be in his future :)

He liked it so much, he climbed up on the table. I had to take his picture before telling him this was not okay, lol.

Jack liked to look at the animals, but wasn't much for petting.. even when we bought some food (thanks, Brad and Christy for the quarters), Jackson wasn't having it.. so, I had to get licked by dirty farm animals :( Jackson does enjoy pigs... in the video below, he's upset because they are sleeping. I was trying to capture him screaming at them, "Waaaakkkkkke Uuuuuuuuppppppp!"
We went on the hayride and played in the mud and had lunch with our friends...

even though it was a less-than-pretty day, we had a blast!
