There's something liberating about not pretending. Dare to embarrass yourself. Risk.

On Saturday the 9th - which is also Daddy's birthday - Geemee and I took the kiddos to the pumpkin patch while Daddy played football with his friends. We so got the better deal!

It was a too-warm day for the pumpkin patch, but it was beautiful nonetheless. It was crowded, too, but we ran into our friends the Arkels. Jackson was ecstatic to see his friend, Jackson, and I was happy that they were able to run around and wear themselves out.

We had a quick brown-bag lunch when we first got there, then explored the patch :)

First, Jackson went through the kiddie hay maze while Geemee, MG, and I tried to get in some shade (it was really hot!).

Then, we ran into our friends Carrie, Dave, and Jackson Arkle :) Jackson was so glad to have a friend to run around with... and, they rode the pumpkin patch train together!

Then, we had a to pick out our pumpkins and head home.

This is only the first of (hopefully) a few trips to the pumpkin patch this year. It was awesome that Geemee could be here for our first trip of the season, and MG's first-ever :)
