There's something liberating about not pretending. Dare to embarrass yourself. Risk.

We celebrated Jackson's birthday with a Jackson & Friends Super Hero party on April 16th. Since his actual birthday fell on Easter weekend this year, we bumped it up a bit to ensure as many friends as possible could make it.... and, we had a turn-out... friends and family from in and out of town, too. Auntie Crystal made the drive all the way from Tampa, and Grandma Pattie, Aunt Becky, and Cousin Alex came from Louisville.

Unfortunately, our outside party had to come in because of rainy and cold weather... but, we still had a good time. The kiddos were encouraged to wear their super hero capes and masks and we had quite a guest list show up... Spiderman (Matthew), Superman (RJ), Batman (Luke), Optimus Prime (Aiden), Wonder Woman (Ella).

We also had a bunch of other kids, namely Myles, Braydon, and Jackson, who wore Spiderman, Wolverine, the Hulk, and Ironman masks - like these below - and capes provided by Jack ;)

Here's a quick shot of some of our Super Friends playing in Jack's room.

To get the festivities going, Ms. Becky did some face-painting (or, drawing) and we let the kids run wild while Dad and some friends grilled hot dogs for lunch.

Then, we ate lunch!

And, had cake!

Jackson was so excited!

And, then on to presents... what a haul this kid made. His friends and family must love him a bunch!

All the kiddos lined up to watch.

Check out this awesome cape Ms. Becky made!!

Showing off his Imaginext super hero cool stuff.

And, his Superman shirt from Grandma Patti... he got a bunch of cool shirts from her :)

Then, Mom and Dad gave him some Spiderman underwear... oh, yeah, and a new bike to go with them.

Little Miss was of course there, too... have to share a couple pics of her in her cutie outfit (that Auntie Crystal sent for her birthday, but which she just got to wear for the first time for the party).

We were so thankful to have a full house of friends and family come to celebrate Jackson's birthday. He had a blast and Jon and I had so much help to make it a smooth and fun day for all of us.

Happy Birthday, Super Jackson!!

And, a SuPeR ThAnK YoU to Jen B. for taking so many awesome pictures at the party and sharing them with me (I only took 14 the whole day!).
