There's something liberating about not pretending. Dare to embarrass yourself. Risk.

So.... you may remember us being hopeful a few months back about a job with US Cellular. Well, it didn't come through and when Jon was offered at Old Navy, he even checked back in with the US Cellular recruiter, but they couldn't make an offer... so, he took Old Navy, and it was good.  About 2 weeks into Old Navy, the USC recruiter (ha, cell phones, not football) called and offered him a sales manager position.  This is a one-location management position directly below the one he put in for way back... and, it was in Martinsburg, WV.  Jon surprised me and after some discussion, he declined the offer.  Then, the first week of June, a month or so into Old Navy, USC called again and offered him the same dang job he put in for back in February - a Sales Manager position that would oversee three locations; two in Hagerstown and the one in Martinsburg.

We debated about it for a while.  Old Navy was going well... it is a good company and Jon liked it enough so far. However, he had just ended training and got placed into his permanent store, and was a bit leery of the new location and manager.  The job with US Cellular was back in the industry he loves, but was an hour away in the opposite direction of my commute - this would mean most of the time, both of us would be an hour-plus away from the kids. Plus, if we buy a house, I want to be a bit closer to D.C., which would put him even further from this gig.  But, then it came down to this was the job he wanted all along and the pay and bonus potential were way better than ON... so, he took it.

So far, so good... though he's back in training and has to pass a sales assessment or lose his job.  Study hard, dear!
