There's something liberating about not pretending. Dare to embarrass yourself. Risk.

Unbelievably, Jack will be six months old tomorrow. Crazy!

I had six-month pictures scheduled for this afternoon but, like an idiot, I completely forgot about them... so, as soon as I can reschedule, we'll have some new professional (sort-of) pics to share.

Here's what they said about babies Jack's age:

Your New Baby

At six months old, babies usually range from 24 inches long and 13.25 pounds (10th percentile) to 27.25 inches long and 18.5 pounds (90th percentile).

Do you realize that this week marks the halfway point to Jackson Edward's first birthday? If you think the last six months have flown by, prepare yourself - Jackson Edward isn't going to slow down for a minute during the next six months. There's too much to do, see, and learn before his first birthday!

Does Jackson Edward propel himself around the floor by rolling front to back and back to front? Many babies develop unique ways of getting around before they start crawling. Jackson Edward may also be getting up on all fours and rocking back and forth. He is trying to gain the strength he needs to start crawling. Remember, babies develop at their own rate, so don't be alarmed if Jackson Edward isn't rocking, rolling, or scooting.

By now Jackson Edward is probably too big for his infant bath, but may still seem too small for the big bath tub. The bath tub may be hard for you to maneuver Jackson Edward in, and it can also be overwhelming for him. You now have several options for bath time: you can buy little blow up bathtubs that fit inside your household bathtub, or you can buy a baby seat.

We have his six-month appointment on November 2, so I'll be able to update measurements, then. And, he's still only rolling from front to back, and usually when he's mad, but he is also starting to get up on all fours and rock like a crazy person. He's going to be mobile in no time. We're scared to death!

Here's a picture that was taken yesterday:
