May brought with it awesome news as Jon was offered a management job with Old Navy. I don't think either of us would have thought that a job with ON would be in his future, but at this point in time - I'm at least just happy that a job came through.
He's an entry-level manager and started on May 7. He's still in training, but so far the hours have been fairly manageable and we're all getting used to Dad working. The kids have some mornings they need to get up and out of the house pretty early, and he's not always home by diner... so, I'm rediscovering how to manage the evening meal - not my fav!
It seems like a great company. They are very supportive of work-life balance issues, have decent benefits, and he gets to wear absolutely whatever he wants to work - jeans, shorts, hats, whatever. It's somewhat irritating, lol. And, we get a great discount. 25% at ON and 50% at Gap, Banana Republic, and another online store we'll likely never shop at. We've all been beefing up our wardrobes!
More than that, we all seem to be happier. Jon gets to see other people during the day and it alliviates some of the financial pressures... all good things!
Hooray for a job!!
