There's something liberating about not pretending. Dare to embarrass yourself. Risk.

Over Memorial Day weekend, the Jordans came to visit us!  It was great to have a few days to reconnect and enjoy each others' company... the kids especially had a great time playing with their best friends.

They arrived on Thursday evening and we had all Friday, Saturday, and Sunday to hang out.  Thursday evening, we stayed close to home and did some visiting... as you can see, the girls got comfy with Mr. Jon.

The weekend went quickly, but we got in a ton of fun stuff while at the same time not killing ourselves.  We made it downtown to check out the dinasosaurs at the Natural History museum, walked part of the mall and saw the World War II memorial, and got some pictures around the Washington Monument.

And, of course we got to ride the train :)  The boys!

Ms Christy caught this great one of Jack.

Playing with the dinosaurs...

After the museum, we sat out on the mall and had a snack and played for a while... this was a highlight of the weekend for me. The weather was pretty, we had a great view, good snacks, and were entertained by the kiddos.  Christy got a good shot of me with the kids.

And, she caught one of the Goddards at the fountain near the sculpture garden.

Sunday, Christy and I went out and about just to hang out and shop some. We killed Jon's Old Navy discount and had a great time trying on clothes and chitchatting... Something I definitely miss.

We had a great weekend - mostly just getting to hang out with some of our besties.  We miss the Jordans a ton and I am so happy they were able to make the trip out to visit.  The door is open any time!!
