There's something liberating about not pretending. Dare to embarrass yourself. Risk.

Watching a baby grow is just amazing. He's getting to be such a big boy.. he doesn't even really look like a baby anymore. The walking probably has alot to do with that...

I was so wrong about the walking. I was in Phoenix this week for work, and when I got home it was amazing to see his progress. He's walking longer and longer distances - 10 feet routinely. He starts to lose his balance, then regains it and keeps going. He'll plop on his bootie but, he's very willing to keep trying. I think he prefers to pull up and walk rather than crawl, even though it slows him down.

Other than that, Jack has had a very rough weekend because he's getting some more teeth. The other front tooth is about to come through and I think the two canines are about to come through, too. So, needlesstosay, with all this action, he's been suffering. Yesterday, he had a fever that spiked to 104... it scared the hell out of me but, the same thing happened with his last tooth and when I called the doctor, they agreed with me it sounded like it was the teeth because he didn't have any other symptoms. So, we've been giving him Tylenol and Ibuprophren and it controls the fever and makes him feel better... still cranky but who would blame him.

We've been bad about pictures lately, so I don't have any new ones to post. I'll make a better effort this week to get some new shots.

Here's what my email says about babies Jack's age:

Your New Baby

Good time for playmates
Does Jackson Edward have friends close to his age? He can benefit from spending time with other toddlers who are close in age right now. Interaction with adults is great, but adults tend to lead a child in play, whereas a playmate allows a child to both lead and follow. However, don't be surprised if Jackson Edward and the playmate don't actually play together. Children at this age still engage more in parallel play, or playing next to each other. But Jackson Edward will quickly learn to play with others and now is a great time to introduce the idea. Look into playgroups in your area if you have trouble finding another baby Jackson Edward's age.
