There's something liberating about not pretending. Dare to embarrass yourself. Risk.

- Drew Barrymore

This is the time of firsts, right? Well, Jack experienced his first time out yesterday. He was not being a very good boy!
Jack is very mobile and is exploring a bunch, which is all and good. Except for a fascination he has developed for a certain nightlight. He has been told many, many times not to play with the nightlight. But, yesterday afternoon, he just couldn’t help himself and he headed in that direction again. I warned him, using that Mommy tone of voice and his full name and moving him back to the middle of the living room to play with his toys. But, on his third trip over there, looking sheepishly over his shoulder to see what I would do, I had had enough. I pulled him away from the outlet, slapped his little hand, and put him in his pack n play. Boy he was mad! He was only in there for a minute but, I hope he at least will begin to associate not fun pack n play when he does something he knows is not good.
He was reintroduced to his pack n play later in the afternoon after his third trip to the trash can, too.
He’s becoming such a little boy! My baby is disappearing right before my eyes.
