There's something liberating about not pretending. Dare to embarrass yourself. Risk.

- Drew Barrymore

This month has absolutely flown and has been completely dominated by vacation.

Even though we were only gone from the 12th through the 21st, it feels like the beginning of the month was all about preparing for vacation and the last week was all about recovery. It's amazing how much work vacation can be, lol.

But, February was more than just vacation. This month, we finally got Mary Grace's first steps! And, as the month has progressed, she is getting braver and braver and toddles as many as five steps before plopping to her bottom. The best part of this development is she's absolutely enjoying it! She giggles and laughs as she walks, almost like she knows what a Miss Thing she really is. She's also become a huge fan of the song "If You're Happy, And You Know It." At the first note, she is just thrilled... she claps - spreading her arms wide - and shimmies and shakes whenever we sing the song. With these fun things, though, we're also getting a cranky-pants lately. She's been very clingy and doesn't seem to know what she wants. She'll cry to be held, but then squirm out of your arms. All of us - including Jackson - will be happy when she moves out of this stage.

This one was taken early in the month when it was still freezing... Thug Missy.

Speaking of Jackson, he's still growing like a weed. Or, at least we're noticing more. He can reach things on the counter without help and doesn't need a stool anymore to wash his hands. He's still really into forts and is covering up anything and everything with blankets so he can hide in his "house." He's inventive and doesn't even need the blankets because he'll sit under tables... dining tables, end tables, restaurant tables... and play. He's also gotten really into pirates, switching regularly from good to bad ones, but always Captain Jack Sparrow :) I get to be his first mate, Pirate Mommy, which is a blast. Dad is Captain Basket Head :)

Dad found this awesome Bumblebee helmet at Once Upon a Child...

For me, the office has settled down this month. We're still drowning in work, but it seems the muckety-mucks have not been as demanding the last few weeks. It's a much-needed and appreciated relief. Even with it being quiet though, the workload is heavy... I'm preparing for two site visits coming up - one in Phoenix in late March and then two weeks later, another in Philly. The prep work is keeping me busy to say the least. We've had two birthday lunches and an early Mardi Gras celebration to help keep us going :)

And, meanwhile... there are revolutions taking place in the Middle East and public employees protesting in Wisconsin fighting for their rights to organize...
