I know I was the most excited of all of us when we woke up Monday morning. We got up and out early with the goal to be at Magic Kingdom as the doors opened at 9 a.m. I had never been there at opening, but had been told it was something not to miss :)
It was chilly that morning. We took the resort shuttle bus. This is a pic of Jon and the kids as we got off the bus... everyone's ready to go!

As we got to the gates, we had to figure out how to use our guest pass tickets (Thanks, Cathy!), and once we figured out what to do, we got to catch the "Good Morning" performance. Main Street cast members ride up on the train and sign everyone a welcome. It was awesome.
Here are our tickets:

And, then we walked in...

Walking into Magic Kingdom is one of my favorite things in the world. I love Main Street. I love it's quaintness and being there in the morning, especially, is a place of ultimate anticipation. You're finally there, and it's just begun.
We walked around the circle and Jackson checked out the statue of Walt and Minnie on the bench... and, then we turned around and saw the castle. I think this is when Jackson really started to understand where we were.
We caught a pic in front of the castle...

And, as we got closer, Jack just took off!

Well, since Jackson ran through the castle, we ended up in Fantasyland first. Our first ride was Snow White's Scary Adventure, which if we had thought about it, we would have realized wasn't a great choice. Jackson went through the entire thing covering his eyes and he was very ready for it to be over. From there, we went to Peter Pan's Flying Adventure and got similar results. After that, we hit the carousel and Mikey's Philharmonic, which was a big hit. We caught on quickly that Jackson really likes the shows :)

From there, we headed to Liberty Square for The Hall of Presidents. While waiting in line, Jack met Mickey for the first time.

And, here's a great pic of Mary Grace and Daddy.

After Liberty Square, we made our way through Frontierland, with our first stop meeting Donald Duck!

We had some lunch, passed to super long line to meet Woody and Jessee, and hit Pirates of the Caribbean... my personal favorite ride of all time. Jack covered his eyes for most of it, but he did like getting his pirate hook after.
At this point, we were pretty wiped out and we went back to our room for a nap. We came back later in the afternoon for the parade.

After the parade, we fought the human traffic to get back out, grabbed some dinner at our resort, and went to bed. We went to SeaWorld Tuesday (details forthcoming), but we were back at Magic Kingdom on Wednesday.
Wednesday morning, we caught a show at the castle first thing. It was lots of singing and dancing, but the part that made the biggest impression on Jackson was the witch from Snow White. He is not a fan.

After the witch made her appearance, he watched the rest of the show from here...

After the show, we hung a right and spent most of our time in Tomorrowland. We saw the Monsters, Inc. comedy show and rode the people mover - a huge hit. We saw the Carousel of Progress and got to sing a long...

But, by far the biggest highlight of Tomorrowland was meeting The One, The Only... Buzz Lightyear! Waiting in line, we thought Jackson was going to pee his pants... he was just thrilled! This is one of the moments where I felt utter and complete joy because of Jackson's utter and complete joy. It's the best.

From there, we hit the tea cups at the Mad Tea Party :)

The rest of the afternoon was spent meandering through MK... we never made it on Dumbo or the Haunted Mansion, but Jackson and I walked through the Swiss Family Robinson's Tree House,we saw the Country Bear Jamboree, and rode the train... After a full day, we headed back to the resort for some dinner and crashed.
Disney is SO different with kids. I rode things I never had and skipped things I never thought I would... and, it was completely awesome.
