There's something liberating about not pretending. Dare to embarrass yourself. Risk.

Lesson 435 of being a Mom:

You can't wait until the second week in December to make family Chirstmas photo appointments on an evening or weekend.

The girl actually laughed at me when I called asking for a weekend appointment. So, I got the latest afternoon slot I could during the week, which was 3:15. Yes, I had to take off of work for our Christmas pictures. It ended up being a great day though. I left work at 11 and Jon was off, so the two of us had a quick lunch and did our Jack shopping before picking him up... shopping for toys is SO fun! We had to seriously limit ourselves but, we picked up some great things I think he'll really like.

Anyway, because of scheduling and thier enticing $9.99 package deal (which of course we blew out of the water after seeing the shots), we went to Portrait Innovations for our pictures. These were our first family shots and I was excited about getting them right away - you wait for your pictures to print. I'm VERY pleased with pictures. Our photographer was friendly, great with Jack and efficient. And, the pictures really speak for themselves:

We probably spent too much money but, what the hell, right? It's Jack's first Christmas!
